Thousands of yellow plastic ducks took on the challenge of a bath-time when they took part in a crazy charity duck race.
Paignton Zoo's Wet 'n' Wild Charity Duck Race took place on Saturday 12th June 2010 at Splashdown@Quaywest. The event raised funds to support the Zoo's conservation projects both here and overseas.
Sponsored ducks raced down the flumes from 11.00 a.m. There was heats throughout the day, building up to the grand final mid afternoon. Successful ducks won cash prizes for their sponsors.
In addition, there was a mascot race on the beach featuring Cuba the Crocodile (from Paignton Zoo), Mac the Penguin (Living Coasts), Gilbert the Gull (Torquay United), News-hound (Herald Express), Pilgrim (Plymouth Argyle), Cavog (Kents Cavern) and Slush Puppie (Splashdown@Quaywest).
