@ellaskins Like you said a phase plug (PP) acts as a dispersion controller (directivity), but the main use for a PP is to eliminate phase cancellations happening in the vicinity of the cone. PP equalizes path lenghts from the cone to the horn throat thus maintaining phase of the emenating waves in close equillibrium when approaching the throat. PP prevents out of phase waves from colliding and creating destructive interference which we would mainly see as a dropping high end response.

I would like to know if the RCF P300} 18" speaker is better than the Celestion FrontLine 2} 18" speaker for low bass, I will be using a QSC 3000a amp to push the speakers,

where do yo get rcf events and how much are they?
and do they have holes in the top?

the event series is an old modle and i don't think they make them any more, but try e bay as you can get a second hand set occationaly, look to pay about UK £500 to £600 for a good condition set. j new they are about £1,750 + vat each!!!
