10 Minutes of Video Game Music - Fortress from Gradius II

This is one of my favorite NES Gradius tunes: Fortress(this is the song on the Famicom version's second stage). Recorded off my Front-Loader NES. Listen in high quality here: http://www.youtube.c...

Now HERE'S a song I can agre with. This song has a lot more energy than the arcade counterpart. Don't get me wrong, "Synthetic Life" is a good song, but "Fortress" just seems like a much better fit. Exactly the same way "Heavy Blow" and the Crystal Level's seemed to mesh better with the level than the original arcade music.
And don't get me started on how much I love "Overheat." :]

I don't know why Konami didn't just use the Famicom-exclusive music in the first place. It certainly does fit better than the original arcade music.
