I believe they based Roll's character off of the cartoon Roll. The Mega Man cartoon show with corny lines that we all love.

Agreed.
Some people might not take notice of the things they do in this film, but it really stands out if you know your Mega Man.
I told a buddy that it was no mistake that they used Asians. It wasn't a mistake to have Roll act the way she did in the movie.

i loved this movie. well put together, good recreation of the game's bosses, fantastic CGI, fantastic writing. the only problem, if I had to pick out one was Roll. She was incredibly annoying.

If you're insanely bonkers about Megaman and want a break from blistering your thumbs, go watch something else. If you're not, then go watch something else. It's a melodramatic snoozefest for all involved... Except for the times Dr Wily overacts like shit. Probably the best part though is the epic song right around 0:51, an amazing arrange of the original.
