This video shows the basic preparations for going diving and how to measure abundance of algae (or other marine organisms) using a transect and a quadrat underwater.
The video was prepared by Craig Aumack and Kyle Glenn as their outreach project for the 2009 NSF-PASI Advanced Tropical Phycology course that took place at STRI's Bocas del Toro Research Station from August 14th to September 4th, 2009.

This video was produced as part of the PanAmerican Advanced Studies Institute (PASI) on Advanced Tropical Phycology, supported by the United States National Science Foundation.
