Pro Tip - I start shooting at 2:15. This is myself test firing the Barrett M98B .338 Lapua Magnum rifle at the Barrett Firearms factory in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. I had just passed Barrett's new Bolt Gun Armorer Course and we decided we wanted to test out some of the rifles. The serial number on this thing was SO low (all the M98Bs in the class were numbered under 50). Amazingly accurate. We selected a random rifle from the class, slapped a scope on it, bore-sited it and started shooting. It's a 100 meter range and after 7 shots I had a 1.75" group (not that bad considering I'm out of practice, have no training, never fired prone, never fired over 100 yards, never fired a .338LM and never fired the 98B). Like buttah. If I had $6k to blow on a gun right now, this is where it would go. Please note that the trouble I had getting the mag out is not typical as we were using an early prototype design.

  • The bolt looks like it woeks very smoothly, and the bullet looks VERY big.

  • @zincinator5000 like butter

  • BF3

  • @windbreaker14 Did they include this (or the MRAD version) in the game?

  • 6 people were down range when this thing went off

  • @sniperpistol50 huh?

  • @Manicwensday1 I'm sure it IS fun, but I'd say 'better' is subjective in this case. The M98 would be much better at taking down dangerous game on the safari, blowing out the chest of a hostage taker from half a mile away, disabling a truck or detonating a roadside bomb in a controlled manner. The water pistol is likely much better at shooting your friends without killing them though. =)

  • @Mindwerkz yea

  • his arms are the size of my ankles

  • @bigpoppaike6 It depends on the situation. Overall, I'd say yes. The .338 Lapua Magnum has great stopping power and excellent accuracy and range, and can serve as both an anti-personnel and anti-materiel round. However, the .50 BMG still tops it in anti-materiel capability and range (possibly accuracy). Another excellent round is the .408, having better accuracy and range than the .50 BMG, making it perfect for the longest of ranges; it is used in the Cheytac M-200.

  • @skari121 In a sense, yes. The .338 Lapua Magnum is like the best of everything in a long range rifle round. It packs a massive punch, much more than a 7.62x51 NATO, has much more range than the 7.62 (and accuracy at range), and acts like the BMG in the sense of the power it has when it hits; it is more effective at engaging personnel than a 7.62 and can still be used for anti-materiel as the .50 is, but has a smaller size than the .50. It's like a BMG, but with the size of a 7.62.

  • @Mindwerkz They went for the standard M98B, not the MRAD. The in-game weapon has the matte-black color, full length (something like a 27" if I'm not mistaken) barrel, and the skeleton stock. They did mess up one thing about the 98, though, that being the magazine capacity; 5 rounds instead of the actual 10 .338 Lapua Magnum, I suppose for balance in the game.

  • DUDE , beautiful wepon
