  • i just ran 6 routers with BGP. CPU was below 20% all the time....!!!

i used a Intel core 2 duo with 2 GB RAM. the laptop was a Dell Vistro 1220 running Windows 7.

IOS image was c3640-jk9s-mz.124-16a.bin and i decompressed and used it. i booted each router one at a time, but it only took around 3 minutes to get all 5 BGP routers up and running smoothly. remember to calculate idle-pc values. i used to hyper-visors with a copy of the same IOS image.

  • @billyyo13 hes using gns3

  • im a newbie, when i bring up show ip bgp on my Customer router the ISP_R3 loopbacks and ip addresses do not show up. I guess i just have trouble establishing connectivity between all of the routers. Do I need to put something on the two ABRs to make CUST_1 be able to communicate with ISP_R3.

  • Nice work man, I've learned so much from your videos, can you make a bgp communities lesson?

  • @int666h Processor is running high because of GNS3, the application being used to emulate the routers, more than likely the 'idlepc' value has not been applied to the routers, this is easily achievable by right-clicking and selecting one which is then applied to all routers on the topology :)

  • Why is your processor load so high on this video? Anyway, thanks for nice BGP explanation :)

  • Looks like GNS3

  • What is the simulator you use?

  • BGP.....my favorite (as I cross my fingers behind my back) lol
