I LOVE your idea of the long handled baskets esp for the elderly & disabled. I just planted 100 starts of different willows this spring, how long before I'll be able to start weaving? How many baskets do you have to make before your good at it?

The basket with the rope-like fiber....I believe that is sea grass.
I saved up a bunch of dried iris greenery to make a basket but never got around to it. Please show us if you make any more baskets out of softer fibers.
I love all baskets, rustic or contemporary. I think I just love anything made from the ground up that's natural.

is that corn husks in the last basket? I like corn husks. I just grew a few plots of great corn this summer and have a fair quantity of corn husk. I put them on the garden as mulch, but should of thought about making a basket out of them. You can make corn dollies from them too.
