If you have twins, it is still possible and beneficial for you to breastfeed them. 

Benefits of Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding twins produces all the same benefits for the mother as breastfeeding just one baby. You will still have optimal health and reduced risk of illness. 

At the same time, your babies will receive the same illness protection and increased health as a single baby receives from breastfeeding. Since breastfeeding babies don't get sick as often as formula-fed ones, you won't have to worry about caring for two sick babies. 

Milk Supply

You may be concerned that you won't be able to produce enough milk for two babies. However, breast milk supply depends on the demand. If you have two babies continually nursing, you will naturally produce more milk to feed both of them. 

Positioning

When you start off breastfeeding, it may be helpful to nurse each baby individually. This will allow you to learn each one's own style and pattern of suckling. 

After a few weeks, you can try nursing both babies at once. Use the same positions as you would for a single baby but incorporate the other breast.
