People, we know that it is impossible to stop all these at once, but we can try our best. I decided to join H.O.M.E and I hope you will too. Doing what's right and prevent what's evil. These innocent people just wanted to make money for their families, but came here they were treated like animals. We can put a stop to this together. One of us might not be enough, but I believe, if all of us join and help to prevent these things, these innocent migrant workers life may be better.

@kevinpunz It's better than some places, but it totally isn't moral or healthy for anyone. The same thing happens to domesticated animals, yet no one gives a fuck. Hm.

@gitanoxeneise: Unfortunately not. Singapore's labor code does not cover domestic labor, and fails to institute even a set number of days or rest, leaving this to the discretion of the employer.
They balk at this, while laying a red cart for wealthy expatriates from the West. Truly, Singapore values human beings according to their net worth.

are there any civic organizations in singapore which addresses these issues? I notice that there are more stories of legal action being taken against abusive employers which shows that the most extreme cases do sometimes get looked at, however, are there moves to instate some kind of basic level of human rights for these women who often have to do these jobs to support their families back home?
