FUNNY hahahaha taking a 2003 hyundai sonata down the 1/4 mile

2003 sonata. 6cyl 2.7l auto 4speed. as a joke we took my friends moms sonata down the track. car seat was in the back on stock tires and everything. sonata ran a 16.97. almost took that rustang out. @ cecil dragway

@KJBPSkipper: It is great to see someone else who see the potential in these cars. The performance in the quarter you got is quite impressive but not suprising. These cars make great sleepers, decent looking, and have room for adults in the front and back. I went the hard way in modifying the Hyundai. Owning 3 classic chevys I didn't have a clue on researching the Tiburon for ideas. I could have saved some money.

@eastender74: I just finished the engine. I had custom headers made and I cammed it instead of going with forced induction. It dyno'd at 301 hp to the front wheels. It is pretty fast but the idle is almost stock sounding. Time for me to work on suspension and breaks. Made a vid of the results from a read light. It's quite impressive.

I have a 2007 Sonata GLS with the 3.3L V6 and it's 236 hp stock which is a little more than the stock Mustangs of the early and mid 80's. Just installed a full racing exhaust (real mufflers/no fart cans) and is in the process of rebuilding and adding a blower to the engine. It should turn out pretty quick when finished.
