Hello! It's Monday, May 21, 2007 and I'm Kristin Volk with a UPI Headline Update.
Islamic militants continue to battle Lebanese forces at a Palestinian refugee camp near Tripoli. The fighting has left dozens dead and wounded. The violence started yesterday when Lebanese forces raided a building north of Tripoli. Militants from Fatah al-Islam began shooting at the army who returned fire. Fatah al-Islam has denied accusations that it's linked to the Al Qaeda terror network.
Meanwhile, violence is escalating between Israel and Hamas. The country's forces bombed Hamas facilities in Gaza today, including a metal workshop there and the home of a Hamas lawmaker. Palestinians sources say 10 people are dead. An Israel military representative says the strike was in response to two rocket attacks on the Israeli town of Sderot. Israeli Cabinet ministers are warning Hamas personnel that they could be targeted in future attacks.
The U.S. military reports that the ringleader of an Iraqi insurgent group that killed five U.S. soldiers in an attack is dead. Sheik Azhar al-Dulaymi was reportedly killed Friday by American troops in Baghdad. An army spokesman says U.S. forces have been pursuing him relentlessly. Dulaymi spearheaded the January 20 attack in which insurgents disguised themselves as American soldiers and attacked a military compound in Karbala.
Flames have gutted one of London's most famous maritime artifacts. The Cutty Sark caught fire yesterday. It's thought to be the only surviving 19th century clipper ship. It had been closed to visitors while undergoing a $50 million renovation project. Police do not know the cause of the blaze, but say it's being treated as "suspicious." The clipper was built in 1869 to transport tea and other cargo across the oceans.

How many times do you Lebo's want to claim victory? You claimed victory on June 21st. Now you claim victory on July 12th after three weeks, the world is waiting for the next 4 victories. Well, I hope you all feel better now. You have finally had 6 victories in your one little war. That makes up for standing by last year in Hezbollah's Victory, when you did nothing.

Wow. Lebs and Palistenians on each other's throat, why I am not surprised. Both doing the only thing they can do, killing, if not Jews then each other.
I wish Lebanese and Palestinians great successes in killing each other.
I wonder why Lebanese are not talking about "Proportional Response" now.
How many resolutions have UN passed so far condemning the killing of hundreds of Palestinians?

.+.SLAUGHTER~ING PALESTIN~IANS AT A RATIO OF "8 vs 1` YEAR AFTER YEAR AND THEN CLAIMING YOU ARE THE VIC-TIM OF TERROR~ISM AND ANTI+SEMITISM IS SIMPLY LAUGHABLE BY ANY RATIONAL, LOGIC, RELIGION OR CREED. NO EXCUSE* IS CREDIBLE` FOR THESE LEVELS OF TERRORISM. NOT EVEN THE JEWISH HOLY `TORAH ALLOWS KILL+ING BEYOND AN EYE FOR AN EYE!

- What we know for a fact is that over the last several years, since 2000, and specifically since 2005 during the parliamentary elections, the Hariri family spent lavishly, especially in northern Lebanon to recruit among the extremist, fundamentalist Sunni organizations.

HARIRI FAMILY + DAVID WELCH - AKA - WELCH CLUB = SAUDI/US FUNDED TERRORIST CELLS -- The FM - (Future Movement/Hariri Party)- created Sunni Islamist 'terrorist' cells were to serve as a cover for *(Anti-Hezbollah) Welch Club projects. The plan was that actions of these cells, of which Fatah el-Islam is one, could be blamed on al Qaeda or Syria or anyone but the Club. -- Franklin Lamb - COUNTERPUNCH ORG
