snap snap snap lickedy split!!! ha ha. dumbass
-
why does it say 100 ghz? 1 tera hertz = 1000 giga hertz, right?
-
Thankfully it doesnt take 10 years to put a new CPU chip into production; once the transistor (main component to a CPU) is established as operating within tollerances, one can start moving to the design phase and prototype/production.
Hence the predicted retail date of 2007, Its far more proffitable (and wasteful) to release small increments than release just 1 standard high performance chip which is their benchmark for the next 4 years. As for intel/amd its a monopoly.

an also they only produced a trnasistor at this peed, not a hole CPU.
-
@Tactums I don't think, they held it back, Intel was behind AMD in performance from the release of the Athlon XP 2000+ in 2002 until the release of the Core 2 in 2006.
It is just much easier to produce prototyypes in small quantitiers then massproducing millions of CPUs a year for not more then a few hundred dollars per unit.
-
This just goes to show how much technology they are holding back... this still hasnt been put into production.
Iran is playing around with optical computing, so too is IBM and have been for several years now.
-
So, where is this new-fangled Terror Hurtz contraption? I feel the need, my friends. The need for speed!
-
Mass production by 2005? 2007?
Fail.
Major Bake Through! unf!
