After listening to 9on audio book) and reading the novel over and over, I always had a picture of Willie Stark as a much heavier man than Sean Penn, and with the big, heavy swaying head etc.pacing and pacing in the hotel room etc.

Broderick Crawford was closer to the mark, but still.....I picture a different man in my head from the novel.

This movie isn't very liberal at all, it's a power corrupts absolutely movie, but in this one they don't get that across as well as the original movie.

I dont watch most of Penn's Liberal Movies. He's a great actor who feels and knows he is lucky to be rich and that he could easily be a joe schmo. So he now produces or acts in Liberal blow hard movies. I'm sure this is one of them...
