This is my review of the MXR Fullbore Metal distortion pedal. It's a pretty versatile pedal and is capable of many different types of sound. The EQ is very sensitive and can create harsh sounds if you are not careful, so take your time making adjustments to find the sweet spot with your amp. It is definitely worth the $99 price tag.

  • thank fuck for you mate. i went into a music store n tried it out and it was fucing unreal and then i get on youtube and everyne makes it sound like complete shit nd i was like "what the fuck did i just spend $200 on" and your demo showed me what it can do, every single other video on this pedal should be fucking removed

  • @xXTOMMOHAWKXx Thanks for the kind words. I don't know why the other demos sound the way they do. I don't want to belittle other people who have demo'd the pedal with less than good sound but it's really easy to get a good tone from it so I don't know what the issue is on the other vids. Good luck with it though, I hope it serves you well.

  • Err mine won't stop sounding like a crazy distorted wah

  • @dimebagdarrellftw I found that it's in the mid range and how it reacts with your specific amp. I have tried to show a few other people how to get a good tone out of it but I think it does depend on the amp as well. If you can get your money back try the Amptweaker Tight Metal. I am using that now and it's amazing. I put up a video tone test of it. Search my vids and it's there.

  • I've recently switched to the Amptweaker Tight Metal pedal. It's got many of the features of the Fullbore, including the noise gate and it completely destroys it tone wise.

  • this is the ONLY video ive seen that made this pedal sound good. well done, sir.

  • @rocknroll9225 Thanks man. It's not hard to make it sound good. I dunno why so many have issue with it. I think it comes down to knowing how an EQ works with your amp.

  • i think this pedal could sound amazing if they reduced the fizz in the factory. if you dont take the time to mess with this and your amp's tone you could sound like a tin can bull of bees. nice job finding the right eq.

  • NICE TONE!

  • @lanningkann How much did the Amptweaker cost you? And where'd you get it?

  • Great Demo Lanning!! nice groove in there too \m/

  • @lanningkann I gave up and Traded for a 78 Badass Distortion which is awesome

  • @eoltorr dude i played the metal muff and it didnt sound any different from the fullbore metal with a lot of fuzz

  • @lanningkann I traded it for a 78 Badass Distortion because it sounds a lot better because its a mix between distortion and overdrive
