Yes this is one of the special Eternal moments captured by the medium of television. I remember clearly seeing and hearing it for the first time in 1977, a very sad Christmas for me as my mother had died suddenly, but this song brought me joy for the first time in many months. Bowie's voice is extraordinarily beautiful in this and together they sound angelic.

AAA+++

When I first heard this song I wondered who the person with the beautiful voice who was singing with Bing, when I found out it was David I was shocked. It sure gave me a new found respect for him. He is a gentle loving man. Such a great song.

Once in a great while, television will bring forth a moment so special, so ETERNAL, that it almost makes up for the massive volume of drivel it generally presents. This is unquestionably one of those moments, still every bit as moving to watch today as it was in 1977. I suspect another passing of three decades will see it just as ageless.
