Experience what it must have been like to fly an SR-71 Blackbird at a height of 81400 feet and a speed of Mach 3.

The Lockheed SR-71 was an advanced, long-range, Mach 3 strategic reconnaissance aircraft developed from the Lockheed A-12 and YF-12A aircraft by the Lockheed Skunk Works.

  • ZOMG ITS THA PLANE THATS IN BLACOPS OMGWTFBBQ!! ..

    I have no life ;_;

  • The MiG-25 still holds the record for the highest flying aircraft at 115,000 feet.

  • You need to do a bit of research before you make grandihose claims. The US didn't invent the aircraft. They were the first to attain "sustained powered flight".

    The first recorded flights (gliding) were by Sir George Caykey of England and Otto Lilienthal of Germany in the 18th century.

    Leonardo Da Vinci invented the Airplane in the 14th/15th Century. He may not have actually made it at the time but it has since been made to faithfully represent his design... AND IT WORKED.

  • @ChumbaWumbaStudios

    Totally agree.... and you know why the US and Russia fail at the original VTOL aircraft... because they were both focussed on power (as usual) trying to use twin engines which they could never get perfectly in sync... hence instability.

  • the xmen jet reminds me of this, based off same design.

  • @TheWhynaut Do you know the immense amount of maths and science involved to put a rocket into space and keep it there? When the Russians did it first, NASA tweeked their science and applied it to Saturn V to get to the moon.

    I admit, yes the F35 will outdate the Harrier, but if our government hadn't cut the budget, we'd have a much better VTOL jet by now, in addition with the TSR-2.

    And if the US hadn't built the first plane I'm pretty sure someone else would have done it later, probably Germany

  • @ChumbaWumbaStudios I hate that "the Russians made it to space first" crap. The U.S. were the first ones to successfully land, and set foot, on the moon. I'd call that a bigger achievment than shooting a projectile with a man in it into orbit around the Earth, which is all controlled by natural gravity. The F35 is going to put the AV-8B out of date, we invented the first airplane (maybe not the first jet powered), but if there was no first, there would be no jet. We made the jet work best of any

  • @TheWhynaut I'm sorry, but it's far too tempting to poke a hole in your argument. *Ahem* If you had the technology 30 years before any other country, how did the Russians get to space first? Why was the first fighter plane German? How did the British build a VTOL jet when the Russians and the US failed over and over again. And how did Britain and Germany develop jet planes before the US?

    Are we the ones who need to realize the difference between facts and ignorance?

  • black ops- 7 kill streak

  • You know what I realized... these people from other countries, they need to realize the difference between facts and ignorance. Every time the U.S. makes the best of something (most likely because they had the technology 30 yrs before any other country, and still do) they come around trolling "it's R a parce of sit, ruSovian indano jut mooch batter". That is ignorance my friends. The U.S. INVENTED the freakin airplane 100 years ago. We're gonna be more advanced. Stop being jealous.
