At a Tribute to Dionne back in 2005
Cissy congratulates Dionne for being in the industry for 40 years and sings 'I say a little Prayer' to her, doing Aretha's version of the song, rather than Dionne's-- understandably, as Cissy is first and foremost, a Gospel singer, and she did backup Aretha on the recording..Dionne as well...I think...

  • No offense but its a known fact that womens voices get lower with age. whitney and any woman not being able to sing as high as in there youth should be expected. the voice does get brassier and more golden. but it wont get higher.

  • whitney is nothing but a perfect mix of cissy and dionne...she has cissy's power and dionne's smoothness...that's why I love them 3...

  • @DejaVusee never throw out stuff, u just never know

  • @MrB0mbdiggity During her days with the Sweet Inspirations and Elvis, she was a beast. Even back then, her vibrato was so big you could step through it...but, I think that was just her style. I always thought Whitney was gifted with a better voice, technically speaking. Either way, very talented family of women...mean women, but talented, none the less. LOL

  • @GospelAccording2ME no, no way do I think differently, except I love her and I love her vibrato and yes she may have lost control here but she is about 50 here (thats a guess) and if you check her earlier videos of when she was in her prime she was amazing and had amazing control especially with her vibrato and the way she runs with her voice....

  • @MrB0mbdiggity I actually enjoy watching a variety of things on Youtube. This clip caught my eye because of the content. It's rare to hear Cissy sing in tribute to someone, so I wanted to see it. Even though I don't care for her voice, I still respect her accpomplishments as a vocalist, musician, director, etc. There's a timbre to her voice that I dislike. Also, I think as she's grown older, she's lost control of her vibrato. These are just my opinions. You obvoiously feel differently.

  • @GospelAccording2ME okay fair comment that you can watch what you want...but what im saying is WHY are you watching it if you dislike her voice ?

and to be quiet honest I dont care where your "located"

she has an amazing voice so....

  • @MrB0mbdiggity Not sure where you're located, but I live in America. I can listen to who and what I choose...and, I don't even have to like the artist. In this case, I don't.

  • @GospelAccording2ME dont listen to it then, dont see why you dont like it :/

  • WOW who knew 72 could look and sound so vibrant? G'head, Cissy!

  • I hate this woman's voice.

  • what a talented family - Cissy, Whitney, Dionne and Dee Dee
