As 'RobustLust' says, it's not about out-doing each other, it's about gathering a group of people together for them to have a chance at experiencing something different.

You obviously don't understand the concept of these types of organized flash mobs.

The idea isn't to out-do each other and compete, it is to simply do something out of the ordinary to get a reaction and feel like you are contributing something different to the world.

It's sad that you feel that way, quite typical of someone who would probably rather watch a movie with big explosions and no substance.
