January 1 of each year brings countless traditions beginning thoughout the year, because after all, it is the first day of each year.
January 1, 2012 held the 60Th Annual "Polar Bear Swim at Cabrillo Beach" in California.
One of my friends, Mr. Mike Logan found today's swim to be his 50th and began his swim when he as about 5 year's old. Mike's son participated in his first swim before his first birthday.
This event marked the first operation of my very small camcorder by my wife, Terri.
The last time this polar bear hit the surf I was over 45 pounds larger, if you can believe that. Perhaps by the next time Terri records me, I'll be smaller. But thankfully, I have made no New Year's resolutions on that subject.
Really?

Why my poor wife, Justin? She wanted to learn how to use the camera and she talked to some friends she saw on the beach. It was a warm sunny day and a good day to get outdoors.
