ABC News reporting on the heavy rain on the 4th Jan 2008

This was a News Report that aired on ABC News on Jan 4th 2008. That day there was a lot of heavy rain and this caused some localized flooding in L.A. Can I just say a few things about what you just saw or should I say what you didn't see. Apologies if we looked like we thought it was funny and like we didn't care.
Thanks to ABC News. We Were on Holiday in Studio City.
We had just arrived there for the 2nd half of our Holiday and were on our way to the supermarket to get some food and drink for the rest of the days out that we had left. As we got to the Supermarket car park, ABC News stopped us to ask what we thought of all the rain we were having. Well at this point I have to explain a few things. We live in Manchester (Nicknamed Rainy City) in the UK. So were quite used to rain and weren't letting it bother us to much and spoil the holiday.

When ABC News realized they had stopped a family of Brits they were thrilled about it. They asked us how we were coping with the heavy rain?

ABC News also asked myself, my wife and my son a few questions about us, what we would be doing on our stay here, that kinda thing and obviously the bad weather.

We explained we were used to the rain and kinda joked about it. As I said not letting it get us down, we were on Holiday after all. But what we did not know and ABC News did not mention to us that there were a few places that were flooding because of all the rain. We had not seen the news all day so could not have known this and would not have taken the situation so lightly had we known what was happening. The News report aired at 11pm that night after there had been a lot more rain.
They interviewed us at around 7pm that night. When they showed the interview, they had edited it down to just one reply from my wife. They asked us "Did we have any advice for their fellow Californians, as we were used to the rain?" My wife replied jokingly "too just put up with it, put some waterproof clothing on as it won't last long." They did make us look a bit hard and uncaring about the situation, which was not the case as I have explained.
So to all you Californians out there who were affected by the heavy rains and might have seen us on TV. Sorry if we looked like we didn't care but ABC News made a good job of making it look that way. I hope you did not suffer too much from it all.
