Playing with the volume knob of a Jackson DK2S (with Sustainiac Pickup) through a Convulsion CN-2 pedal by Audible Disease.
The CN-2 is a great sounding and unique distortion pedal that delivers all kinds of sonic possibilities.
The CN-2 pedal is very responsive to input volume. As the input decreases, it loses track of the pitch and creates all sorts of wild sounds. Since the DK2S can sustain the pitch indefinitely, I can hold a note and adjust the input to affect the output. Since the note will not decay, I can hold a particular input as long as I like.
This video is just a demonstration using one sustained note. If you want to really have fun, try more than one note!
The first part of the video has the DK2S in Normal Mode.
I then switch to the Mix Mode on the DK2S.
After that I switch to the Harmonic Mode of the DK2S.
Finally I go back to Normal Mode and play briefly with the Cough knob on the CN-2 Pedal.
Again, this is a great pedal, and I encourage everyone to head over to http://www.audibledisease.com and pick one up! (I'm not affiliated with them, just a fan).
Sweet board!
How would you define the sound you are making?
I would call it "dial-up modem", "calling a fax number", or "broken Nintendo".

@vivivivivivivivi - I prefer to call it Atari Nouveau. It's the natural evolution of my playing style. I used to only play grandpas guitars with some guy named vivivivivivivivi
