  • I agree with the 4 sets of explosive movements but not the 5th set to failure. Train your body explosively and save that energy for your next exercise. Flash Performance Training

  • @TrainToPerform training to failure has it's uses early on for reasons of increasing hypertrophy training ability, but then is tapered off in favor of more explosive movements, and bulding pure strength.

  • I Love your videos, 2 questions how much Warm Ups should do first, secondly isnt this the descending trainning method, how many days would you recommend for recovery? thanks again

  • @MKisJ Good question... too big to answer here. If you don't mind going here: freeverticaljumptraining DIZOT com and click on the ASK A QUESTION link... then ask it there. You can subscribe to the answers so you know when I answer it. Thanks!

  • Please take a look at some of my vids on my channel (the "First Dunk Mix" in particular) to see if maybe it's my jumping form or if I really just need to get back to strengthening my legs again.

  • Hey, I've been doing plyometrics for about 6 months now and have had some pretty decent gains. I'm able to squat about 330 lbs and I weigh in at about 162 pounds so I think my legs are pretty strong. However, I'm starting to plateau. I'm not really gaining anymore. I'm at about 42 inches on my best jumps and now I'm moving towards other programs (starting Vertical Jump Bible) to see if different plyo workouts will maybe shock my muscles into different gains.

  • @freejumptraining It will wear you out nicely, but even one set to failure is training endurance and not the fast twitch muscle fibers we are aiming for with jump training. Hypertrophic training is a different ball game. Mixing an endurance set with explosive movements is really just a calorie burner. Probably not hurting much, but most likely not helping. It's possible what you're trying to achieve is an increase in aerobic training capacity. That would help with future hypertrophic training.

  • haha the one in particular must be AIR ALERT! lol
