As I was saying lyrics amazing. The language of the late 80's, record needles, telephone exchanges, computer terminals yet you could almost say the references to greasy city traders was predicting and prophesying the future vulgar excesses and corporate greed of speculators and bankers that brings us up to the credit crunched 2009. However Del Amitri got one thing wrong, something does matter..... yes Music! :) Right apologies for the thesis. I promise to revert to my short sound bytes ;-)

Ah Yes. This one brings back memories to me. I was working in Scotland when this came out. I think Del Amitri were from Glasgow. Very poignant. As usual the song is covered impecably by a true musician. Yes that's you Jim! Del Amitri I wonder where they are now. One of oddest band names I always thought.... "from the womb" in Greek I think it means. Lyrics amazing to listen to again from a 2009 point of view. Gonna finish this point in another comment slot as running out of space!
