@atreyuguy01 You can probe it and if it goes down far it's a boy and if it only goes down a little then its a girl.
-
@Freddyzorder He's wearing gloves because their nails get extremely sharp.
-
nice tegu
-
That poor lizard must think. "Fuck i wish i was in the wild eating real ones!"
-
What he lacks in table manners, he makes up in appetite!
-
@Freddyzorder They're probably because their nails are SHARP. My baby is 35" nose to tail tip, and she tears my arms up lol.

not often you see reptiles here on youtube that actually is being fed in a serious manner :P Mostly it just seem to be some kids posting vids of their ''ferocious'' reptiles smashing living food that is waaaay to big for the poor reptile..

Yeah....well....I'm not a teenage kid who gets off watching animals kill each other. Hehe. Some would say this video in no way makes up for the other ones I have posted...including my 9 year old daughter shooting a WWII German handgun. Ah well....

A humane feeding. Well done Gromit! You've even trained him to eat froma plate! Now that's what I call a civilised Tegu.
I still want to hear if their accidental bite can cause incurable infections. Has anyone died from a bite?
And once bitten, what percentage of owners forgive and make up?
I wonder if there is a separate section for lizards at the local pet cemetery?

My brother had a golden tegu that was VICOUS, it would jump at him if he even opened the top of the cage.

I had a golden (many years ago) that had the same temperament.....until you took him out of the cage. After the 5 minutes of fighting, he calmed down to where you could handle him. Goldens (and Columbians in general) are much more agressive as a rule.

An accidental bite shouldn't cause any unusual problems. The ones you're thinking of are the Komodo dragons who are left with rotting meat in their mouths after they eat, which gets all nasty. I don't think that's an issue with these guys...especially if you wash and treat the wound.
