M76 semi-automatic sniper rifle was made in Yugoslavia by former "Zavodi Crvena Zastava" (now known as Zastava Arms).

The rifle is chambered for 7,92x57mm cartridge and made as a DMR (designated marksman rifle). M76 uses a long stroke gas piston, almost identical to the AK47's.
The rifle is simple, reliable and can shoot groups of 1,5MOA (or even less with proper ammunition) at 100 meters.

It's very effctive on short and medium ranges.

The potential of 7,92x57mm round is limited by factory mounted optics ON-76 by Zrak Sarajevo with only 4x magnification.

The maximum effective range of this weapon system is around 800 meters.

Im not Serbian and I agree that Slovenia and Croatia may be better functioning than Serbia, but the talk here is that Zastava is more Serbian than anything else and to call the "Yugo" weapons Serbian is pretty correct.

Have a good day, bro. Ps im drunk as fuck

Its funny. Everything Serbian is also Yugoslavian, even tough Zastava Arms existed well before Yugoslavia. And now Croats and others claim and mention Yugoslavia and in most other cases make everything Croat. I was reading some Balkan war Book and most Croat officers claim they finished Croatian Military academy lets say in 1982 and we still had Yugoslavia at that time!

You're probably thinking of the dragunov SVD/PSL, that there has an AK style system and eats 7.62x54R, a decent one is about $1300. Held one, about 10 pounds empty and about 4 ft long. Passed it up when it was $700, now that I looked back, glad I didn't. I would have had to drill a hole on the top of my safe to fit it.

Nope, 7.92x57... its probably the only AK style rifle that shoots mauser caliber.

Its pretty, but very heavy, last one I saw the price tag was $1500ish. At that range might as well look for an L1A1, its hard to find correct load 8mm mauser now that surplus is nearing dry
