This is part 4 of a rare documentary made juring the Making of the Empire Strikes Back between 1979-1980. If you consider this the best of the Star Wars films and love the score then this is the holy Grail of documentaries.

Narrator makes a mistake- "Close Encounters" was Williams' THIRD film for Spielberg, not second. He forgot "Sugarland Express".

Spielberg sounds exactly the same then as now.

That jaws sequence - still horrible lol ! (first film i ever saw, couldn't go for a swim for weeks later). What a wimp!

Thank you very much for this great documentary. Its very hard to get information how filmmusic is made, espacially, the music of one film - in this case star wars V.
But you gave us this documentary! And it brings light into the "art of filmmusiC" too!

Amazing. Now Berklee's intro to film scoring class, which im watching this for, is using this uploaded video to study John Williams' style and the important elements of making music for movies.
