Joanne has shingles, an infection of a nerve and the area of skin around it. She describes her symptoms and treatment and how she manages the condition
According to medical experts shingles should be kept in check if your immune system is functioning correctly in all quarters. If it is suppressed in anyway the virus is able to reactivate and travel to the upper levels of the skin and cause the classic blistering and painful rash.
Tea tree, oregano, and rosemary essential oils. High quality, unheated, with some kind of carrier such as dmso to get it to the nerves. I was unable to sleep. within in minutes, after the slight stinging of the oils working, almost complete pain loss, almost all but the worst lesions have completely fallen off and closed. The next morning only the swelling of my facial glands remained and one of the larger shingle lesions. tell you on day two the continued results.
I have it now, self-diagnosed. The area was sore and I thought it was probably due to an allergic reaction to my deodarant. I got it on the side I sleep on so it was extremely painful. Anyway, last night I felt horrible, like I had the flu. Woke up and the rash was from the middle of my back warpping around me, under my armpit and to my chest. Movement and temperature changes hurt so bad. Hopefully this will be my only bout with it.
Started dead center in the chest, wrapped around right into the middle of my back. The ten tabs a day meds didn't work for me either. Now, after six weeks the pain is starting to go away. The pain is so bad you can't sleep properly at night, so this condition is TERRIBLY BAD. Just getting through some moments are sheer torture, literally. Get a "memory foam" pillow and memory foam mattress, it will help quite a bit, as the soft layers won't press on your nerves as much.
how can 2 doctors not know what it was. MINE knew immediately she saw it. Your doctors must be pretty incompetent. I had shingles at 20 and it hurt like hell. I also believe i had meningitis for a week from shingles.
Thank you for sharing. I have shingles and I think my case may have been brought on because of stress. I take antihistamines to help releive the burning, stinging and itch. Two healthcare professionals did not know what I had when they saw me. Cold also helps relieve itching, but not hot. Try to avoid hot showers or close fiting clothes. I also try very hard to have a better attitude when I am in pain. That takes time. I play cards on the computer or something that will distract me.

you can get shingles from not sleeping enough. Sleeping helps your body fight off infections better. lack of sleep weakens your immune system

Joanne completely sees through school medicine.
Soemtimes your GP may not be successful with his ointments and pills, but the answer to shingles and many other illnesses may lie in nature!
And she is so right by saying that attitude and immune system need to be strengthened: something our GPs don't really seem to do....
