My First Short Film

Hi Guys, I got disqualify from an Apple Insomnia Film Festival because I was from Canada. I got the invitation to participate, made the film, and they never used it because I'm from Canada. The point of this contest was to produce a 3min short film in 24h (from Friday night 5pm to Saturday night 5pm). I didn't wanted to win the contest, but at least get my work rated and comment....

Just like you I would like to get my work rated and commented (I didn't go to film school nor took workshops) I just appreciate film as an art form and would like to know what other people think about my first work (if it has potential or not).

I shot mine in Montreal too; did they ask you for a permit to shoot in the metro?

well.. if you go after midnight in the metro, you should not have any problem

Wow, this was excellent. It's a pity you got disqualified -- this was certainly better than anything submitted last year, even the winners. I plan on entering this year's Film Fest... good luck with your future film endeavors.

Loved the film! At first I thought there's kind of a strange distance in the main character, then after watching the film again I think he works really well. I could have used an extreme close shot of his face earlier. Great job!

My editing is very rough I used windows movie maker and an old commercial camcorder; I think it has a similar feeling to yours. But besides the technical errors that I'm aware of I would like to know if people like it.

Salut... Very well done Everest, I liked it. I recently made my first short film also and I was aiming to do a 3 minutes short but I found it too difficult to summarize everything in such a short time and ended up with 9 minutes instead. That's what I liked most about your film, your ability to keep it in 3 minutes and still maintain the feeling.
