The Pilipino Student Association performs Tinikling, a popular dance in the Phillippines. The dance imitates the movement of the tikling birds of their legendary grace and speed by skillfully maneuvering between large bamboo poles and dodging bamboo traps set by rice farmers. The bamboo is used as a percussive instrument as it is banged against the ground. As the dance continues, the banging of the bamboo becomes faster and harder, the sound of the clashing bamboo and the quickness of feet demonstrated by the dancers. The performers are Christine Pulido, Jeromy Ko, Payton Fugate-Laus, Michael Sansait, Christina Buckler and Marisa Ball.

Recorded at Taste of OSU on Friday, January 29, 2010 at The Ohio State University by Office of International Affairs videographer Victor van Buchem.
