My cat loves this, even though now he's over 20 lbs, He still rolls around on the floor wanting to be spun around.

It's not mean to the cat at all. He loves it. Granted now he weighs 20lbs so its a little difficult, he'll roll around at your feet wanting you to play with him.

@blobbyhappy , I agree with starlover84 , people doe this to the cats, it's quite an enjoyable excitement to them, if they didn't like it, they would run away or fight to avoid such action, i do it with my cat, he goes nuts afterwards, doing it on a spinning chair is even more enjoyable, some want to go again, it's mostly the younger felines that enjoy this the most, they find it fun.
