Tyrol owes nothing to the Nazis, to the contrary. Hitler betrayed them, delivering them into the claws of Mussolini and his gang. He put thousands of them in jail, tortured and murdered them, deported many others and tried suppressed their language and culture. In fact the only people still revering fascism in South-Tyrol are some immigrants from Italy. Your ignorance of the facts of history disqualifies you for any further discussion on the subject.
You are sadly mistaken. I do NOT feel better than anyone else. There are quite a lot of peoples and nations I highly admire. Samoa, Portugal, Japan, the Scots, Rhodesians, Hong Kong, São Tomé, the Afrikaners, Singapore, the Peranakan Chinese of Java and its surrounding islands, the Swiss and the Swedes, to name but a few. And if I do not admire people, I do not hate them. I pity them.
@gbernsdorff stop bragging and feeling like you are better than anyone else. your obsession with cleansiness and neatness reminds me of the nazis high command.
what's the point of being 'free of economic corruption' when your soul is feeled with hatred for those you consider your inferiors?
it is no wonder that the rest of the world does NOT have sympathy for your cause the way the palestinians or people from basque have. except of course the neo-nazis in austria and germany...
South Tyrol is a prosperous and civilized country, thanks to the diligence, the civilization and the high level of education of its German-speaking population. It is financially sound, governed in a democratic way virtually free of large-scale corruption.
You are mistaken. There are no cave dwellers in Tyrol.
Conversely, Italy is notorious for its troglodytes. In the town of Matera e.g., people have been living in rock dwellings since Palaeolithic times. With their lack of sanitation and high infant mortality these dwellings became a source of national shame, especially after Carlo Levi wrote about them in Christ Stopped at Eboli, a denunciation of the poverty and misery he had found in southern Italy.
