Actually it is a short shank. Opened to size F (about 90)

that approach of music and jazz is so far from the stuff learned in music schools and stuff played by "jazzmen" always trying to play faster ,louder etc...that's the real thing.it's simply music.open up your ears and souls young people and learn from greats like Kenny.thanks for posting

It's a song that pianist Mal Waldron wrote for Billie Holiday. Billie wrote the lyric for it.

Abbey Lincoln sang the version of it that I like best. If you search here on YouTube for "Abbey Lincoln Left Alone" you'll be able to hear it.

Simply amazing....Kenny's sound on this wonderful piece is spiritual, sincere, and soulful. It truly captures the essence of jazz music's natural soulful birth.

Keep on keeping on................Faith and Focus!

Kenny used a short shank E in the past, with Miles Davis for sure, but for years now he has used a modified scroll shank that has been opened up to a .096" tip opening, done by Fred Rast. HUGE sound!
