In some ways this is like the infomercial guy saying "situps don't work, you have to buy my ab gizmo instead." I've been making a foundational living doing background acting in LA for a year now and it hasn't interfered with auditions, commercials, or speaking parts. It's just a good fallback to have for days when you don't have something else lined up, it's not something you get trapped into. The subtext here is all about why you should take his class, though I do hear that it's a very good one

I'm not going to argue about the theater. That's good point as far doing all those show cases and workshop and unpaid theater but surely you can't mean, don't take a role in a play at the Mark Taper or the Pasadena Playhouse, La Jolla theater?

Don't become an actor because you want to be rich and famous, Become an actor because you can't stand the thought of doing anything else.

This guy clearly knows what he's talking about, however, first of all he should add a common mistake 'Becoming an actor because you want to be rich and famous'. Obviously these are great motivators, and for a tiny proportion of actors this dream comes true, but 80% of actors earn under £10,000 a year. The truly great actors of our time, your Al Pacino's, Dustin Hoffman's, Anthony Hopkins etc. All of them started their careers on the stage, and most importantly because they love what they do.

This guy is right on! So is BobbyWashington. Do It Yourself. Work your ass off, get good, create great stuff, then the agents will come looking for you. You can start off by creating your own YouTube Channel. Make your own clips and short films and put them on your channel. Mine is not the best example ( eamartin19 & DillaranMartinTV ) but you will get the idea. Create interesting stuff! When your subscriber list starts to grow then you must be at least doing something right. BE THE INNOVATOR
