I'm so sorry I didn't update for three days, I got lost into the world of The Hunger Games. Finished reading Catching Fire and still can't believe what happened. I'm going to upload three parts today for those three days I didn't upload.

Selena waited outside the library at exactly eleven o'clock. She bit her bottom lip nervously as she waited for Nick. She was never good when it came to relationships. In her entire life she had only ever been in two serious relationships and both ended up being a disaster.
She always believed in the idea of true love and all those things she read in the books but after her downfall in relationships she gave up on romance. It was the first time Selena had a date in months and the idea made her feel nervous to her stomach.
Selena looked around the area and pulled her woolen scarf tighter around her neck. The air was frigid, and the winter wind pounded her feathered face relentlessly. The snow had yet melted from the beginning of the week and the forecast predicated that it was yet to snow again. This of course was good news for the local kids as they could enjoy having an extra week of school by having snowball fights, sliding down the sleighs and making snowmen.
Selena was about to check her watch when she heard boots crunch in the snow behind her. Turning around a smile painted across her face.
"I didn't keep you waiting long did I?" he asked kindly.
She shook her head reassuring him, "not at all"
He breathed a sigh of relief, "Good. I was thinking we could go to my place and have some coffee?" he suggested.
Out of all the first dates she had attended, not one of them took her to his place. It was usually dinner or a movie. But she had a feeling that this time would be different. "That sounds great," she said with a smile.

When she stepped inside his apartment, she was greeted by beautiful portraits and pictures of various landscapes, cityscapes and seascapes. Looking around the hallway, most of his stuff was still packed in boxes. "Sorry most of my stuff are in still in boxes" he apologized.
"That's alright" She walked over to one of the pictures that hung on the wall and observed it carefully. It was a picture of the British seaside. The waves hit the shore perfectly like it was coming to kiss the sand. "Did you take this?" she questioned.
A sheepish grin swept over his face, "Yeah when I visited England in the summer last year" he said as he raked his hands through his tasseled curls.
"Ohhh, so you're a photographer?" she asked with a hint of curiosity in her eyes.
"Well taking pictures is a favourite hobby of mine." He explained.
"Well you're really good" she complimented with a smile.
"Thanks. Why don't you go into the living room just to the left and I'll get some coffee" he gestured to the living room to the left before he walked into the kitchen. Selena walked into the living room and it immediately felt like home. Comfortable sofas had already been placed as well as a coffee table and a small plasma screen TV.
But what caught her eye was the only picture placed on the mantelpiece. She walked up to it and observed it. A smile stretched across her face she didn't notice Nick was standing behind her with two steaming hot coffee mugs. "That's my family last thanksgiving"
"You look like so much like your mom" she smiled before taking the cup and sat down on the sofa.
"What's your family like?" he questioned blowing the hot steam before taking a sip.
Immediately Selena froze in her spot.
"Ohhh, I didn't mean to—"
"No it's alright" she took a small sip before continuing. "There's a reason why I started working at the diner. Me and my mom never got along and when my father passed away I knew I had to get out of that town." She didn't know why on earth she was telling him all this information but something inside her was telling her that she could trust him.
"I drove until I ran out of gas and ended up in this small town. Maggie was the first person I broke down to. She offered me the job and let me stay at her place till I was back on my feet. Now that I am, I have my own place and made my own family here," she explained.
He didn't say anything but put down his coffee mug onto the coaster and brought Selena into a friendly embrace. Selena rested her head on his shoulder and didn't utter a word. The fact that Nick was holding her was all the mattered.
This is such a cute story. I really love the way you write, Nishita! And I'm also thinking of reading the Hunger Games. :D
