@ovendonkey186 Actually, there was something sooner that we were reading in class, I'm only in aviation-- air traffic control. I'm not an expert in geology, discussed it one day talking about computing for magnetic error and how it keeps getting more deviated true north from magnetic north. All I know is its a possibility.I doubt anything bad would happen your compass will point S. Its if it happens during a solar flare that's interesting.
@ovendonkey186 But I read the Lewin one, it mentions science really doesn't know exactly how long many of them take, they just tested on in OR and it showed movement a few degrees every day with the daily lava flows. Where's your proof that it always takes 1K of years? I've looked and generally its conceded they don't know the actual process-- these others studies are from lava flows that were happening daily during a flip which reveals more about the process timeline.
@ovendonkey186 Rober Lewin, Roger, “Earth's Field Flips Flipping Fast”, Science , page 26, January 25, 1992 Mike Fuller, “Fast Changes in Geomagnetism”, Nature , vol 339, pages 582-3, June 22, 1989 . Andy Jackson, “Still Poles Apart on Reversals”, Nature , vol 358, pages 194-5, July 16, 1992 . Richard Monastersky, “The Flap Over Magnetic Flips”, Science News , vol 143, pages 378-380, June 12, 1993 . Enjoy.
This shows, God is in charge. He's sick of the technology used for mass control. He'll show who's the real one in control. Half of this world is full of evil, destroying and using the other half.
@jmitterii2 I'm sorry, but where the heck do you get your data? When we first learned that pole shifts happen, by examining the Mid-Atlantic ridge spreading center, we learned that is happens slowly by dating the sections aligned to the current south pole. It is not possible for the Earth's magnetosphere to diminish to nothing and regrow in the opposite direction so quickly in the first place, and we've seen the lava records to prove it takes thousands of years to complete the process.

@jmitterii2 I'm happy to see you read about this stuff. All those sources are 20 years old, however, and we've learned a lot since then.

Well, thanks for the info, but... Now we're all gonna be paranoid.
