Horse Sleigh competing on the cones course in the first ever sleighing combined tests held at Green Mountain Horse Assoc. in South Woodstock, VT, February 21. Horse and driver are timed, and incur penalties for dislodging any tennis ball from off the top of a cone (or knocking a cone over, or going out of sequence.) The horse is required to trot the course, and will also be penalized for taking more than 5 canter strides in a row. Sleigh rallies were also held this year. GMHA hosts numerous horse events throughout the year, including eventing, carriage drives, and competitive trail riding.

Ones I noticed had borium spots on their shoes, and probably used rimpads. Our own horses are barefoot and would be able to go very nicely in snow like this. This driver and others competing were very high-level in competition driving in the NE, combined sleighing was new this winter at Green Mountain Horse Assoc.

What Fun! What type of shoes does your horse have on... if any? Great driving! The horse bends and navigates nicely.
