  • but freaking out can be completely sincere..like I tend to get excited when my puppies learn new things and when they do them when i ask them to and I am completely sincere i am doing it because im excited and because they impress me not just because you need to praise so I get where your coming from but I just think that not everyone who gets excited is insincere

  • @mysecretscankill That's correct. SiINCERE freaking out is wonderful! :)

  • Personally, I engage my dog in conversation. Yes, she does not speak english back but she watches me and I can tell she is thinking about what I say. If you watch her closely, and this just might be me and some wishful thinking, it appears that she forms opinions about what I am saying. She understands when I ask her things in full sentences such as "where did you put your tennis ball? Go find it" I never actually trained her to find anything. It proves that dogs do understand language.

  • @fastveedub dogs are the most awesome animals I think.I really feel bad if they do too:(.

  • 13 people dont like thier dogs!!!..........that is sad.

  • yea you look patienly

  • I say goodnight to my dog every night :) Well I used to, I'm off at college now :(

And I ask him questions like "do you want to go outside" and I use full sentences when I talk to him too. His favourite one to ignore when he's comfortable laying in the living room is "let's go to bed."

  • you are very good .... in talking :) you want me to talk to dogs ? mmm what about making him check my e-mails or maybe we make love at night ?

  • You hit the nail on the head with sincerity, I find its almost like going into a zone and everything just flows along nice while your working together. Its really I guess like being 100% in that moment. Not rushing through routines to get to the next command, but just really being in that moment with a dog and learning together. JMO

  • ur dogs are sooooo beautiful!!!!

  • How do I connect with a dog that goes nutz on the leash every time she sees a human or dog without training tools?? I'm thinking of getting the e-collar to redirect the dogs attention. I don't know what else to do

  • ur the best

  • If we're comparing a dogs IQ to that of a 2 year old, then it's the same situation on the language. A two year old will think about what you're saying sure. However a word that it's never heard before or doesn't know the meaning of won't have the same effect as words it does know.. I believe this is the same with dogs. If you're using a word for the first time, how can you expect the dog to know what it means? I think by simply engaging in conversation with your dog you improve this very easily!
