blind faith is what led the church to persecute Galileo for stating that the earth is the not center of the solar system...Blind faith couple with inherent human selfish desire is what leads to these religious wars that we have; any faith based belief is wrong, dangerous, and destructive; religion for the most part is a manifestation of our selfishness, our desire not only to prosper on earth but to prosper eternally ... and yet ironically it is this desire that causes us so much pain.

all religion is crap...no proof, no belief, no faith. religion was invented by either the power to control the masses, or the down trodden to give themselves an uplifting feeling, either way it's man made and has yet to be proved otherwise...if we all fall into a "faith based" way of thinking our country will be doomed as we keep selecting leaders based on their hypocritical faiths and no their deeds (cough cough WBUSH) ...

Jim Matthews is such a loser. No wonder he has such horrible ratings. Before long MSNBC will be begging for a bailout . . .

"During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What have been its fruits? More or less in all places, pride and indolence in the Clergy, ignorance and servility in the laity; in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution."
James Madison

"As the Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Musselmen; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries." John Adams
