  • @ptrgeorge1 what can byrd squat without a belt and knee wraps??? can't do 800 like pat can...

  • @ptrgeorge1 byrd maxes out on squats once a week. pat maxes out on squats 2-3 times a day. pats got that bitch beat at his own game.

  • @ptrgeorge1 sam byrd is a shit squatter compared to pat mendes. Pat's 800 squat is legendary. byrds 800 squat is wimpy

A lot of Oly lifters come up with far superior gym numbers, or false numbers are simply reported to the press. Whether Broz is the type to falsify a 207 snatch or not, I'll leave it up to you to decide for yourself. I do know that a great number of lifters lose lifts that they've made before.

And Koklyaev is an incredibly strong motherfucker.

  • @Draykid neither of which has he ever done in competition. like i said, he couldn't even snatch 182 in the arnold's.

  • @Draykid also, if you want someone who can actually back up their numbers in pl and ol, watch koklyaev. 210 snatch, 250 c&j, and he's actually squatted 805 pounds in COMPETITION. just because someone's an oly lifter doesn't excuse them from skepticism.

  • Also, two of the guys who brought heavy squatting to the forefront (both respectively called "the original powerlifter") were Olympic lifters: Doug Hepburn and Paul Anderson.

At any rate, I think I've filled up this comment section for just about long enough. If you or anyone else has anything else to say, then please do.

I'm only quoting a.) most powerlifters (who say that wraps, belt should add about 10-20 pounds to your lift each), and b.) Fred Hatfield. And if you check, there's footage of Mendes both squatting 800 pounds with complete control, no spotters, no wraps, no belt, and snatching 207.

  • @Draykid you're assuming a lot. so far mendes' comp numbers are much much lower than his gym numbers. he's supposedly snatched 207 in the gym but missed 182 at the arnold's this year. the fact is, oly lifters brag about their squats a lot for people who don't even squat in competition. that'd be like magnusson saying he can snatch 200+ but never actually proving it in front of anyone besides his coach.
