Eurofighter Typhoon F2 at East Fortune Airshow 2008

With a name inspired by one of the most potent ground attack and fighter aircraft of the Second World War, the Typhoon represents the future of the Royal Air Force.

One of the most advanced multi-role aircraft in the world today, Typhoons are replacing Tornado F3's and the now retired Jaguar in their respective roles as high altitude interceptors and low level ground attack aircraft.

Built by a four nation consortium consisting of the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain, this state of the art aircraft will be the front line type of these air forces for many years to come.

The pilot demonstrating the awesome Eurofighter Typhoon today at East Fortune and for the 2008 season is Flight Lieutenant Charlie Matthews from No.29(F) Squadron at RAF Coningsby.
