ET Speed Run (1:21)

A speed run of the game everyone loves to hate vicariously, ET for the Atari 2600. This was recorded on emulator, but is not a TAS.

I wanted to do this because I remembered playing this game as a kid and it not being quite as bad as everyone says. It's non-traditional and makes some poor design choices, but accomplished what it wanted to do.

By that logic Donkey Kong, Myst, and Masters of Orion 2 were even worse games than ET and Super Mario Bros is a little under 4 times as good.

"Accomplished what it wanted to do"? Well it was one of the best selling games of the system but that doesn't mean it's good. Back then there were no reviews so people didn't know which games were good. Since the E.T. movie was such a big hit people expected the same for the game. And the sells it made STILL weren't enough! Plus, people would return it back to the stores asking for a refund. This is why gamers today shouldn't complain about bad games. This is the real definition of "bad".

@shairaptor Lol, that is funny, I still play Atary now adays!! It is funny that the console and games have outlasted a few of my xbox 360's. Something is wrong there . . .
