Yup, as big as this is, it's small compared to the 797 and RH400s or P&H 4100s.
-
No, they are not even close to the largest avaliable. The first truck leaving was a 789 (rougly 180t payload) and the second a 785 (140t paylad). Cat makes three larger trucks, the 793, 795 and 797. Infact the total loaded weight of a 789 (320t) is less than the payload of a 797 (360t). That shovel is not really a 'monster' when parked beside the likes of an O&K RH400, Liebherr 996 or 9800, Hitachi EX800 or a P&H 4100.

And thats the biggest dumptruck in service just now? think cat will have to dream up some mega truck to cope with at least Four or five passes from that monster! If I ever won the lottery, ide buy those two for a starter!

shame banks shovel drivers cant get a full bucket then the trucks would be productive. Half loaded trucks are not productive.

Good productive truck driver, hes quick and ready for the shovel.

Reminds me of the tour I went on when Stobswood opencast was still active - the weather was the same as well - but the experience will stick with me forever!

been awhile since been on RH200 but that they sure can dig
8ZRD11R is correct, The 789 is third inline. The 795AC isnt in production yet and the field follow machine's are going into Fording Coal. The RH200 here is around 600 ton with all the extra's. Still a big machine and a 4100 couldnt dig in the same place as this machine.

Aye well Method to the madness. The 200 Fills the 785 in 2 1/2 buckets. Might as well drop the half bucket in the skip first. Saves the bed from Pain. Also, The rock is not blasted that close to the high wall either so its hard digging. The Truck's get loaded thats for sure but not over loaded. Check out the first truck that leaves the machine, Looks just about right, Not overloaded. Just about right.
