  • knowing that Crate overderive can be already heavy, Metal Zone for sure will suit your needs, the name stands for

US made Digitech/DOD Grunge is not bad also, I had one it sounded great even for Insane settings and it was pretty cheap

    or MXR Full bore Metal

there are tons of great distortion pedals on eBay, just pick one made before 2000s, avoid asian stuff

I have a few vintage RATs, they sounded great on my Crates from Bluesy Overdrive to Heavy Thrash Distortion

  • Against the peavey studio pro 112 , whos better ?

  • @Madrazors don't know but probably Peavey amp is bigger an has more power, 100 W ? I saw one in a shop once but that's all by my side

  • @TheBrotherCane ,I finally bought the crate , sounds great ! But ,i couldnt find the correct settings to get a thrash-death metal tone .Suggestions ? I am thinking of buying the metal zone (boss) , good idea ?

    Thx!

  • I have the same AMP. I really like it. It is all I need.Loud and great distoration out of it without any pedals.

  • Hey just wondering how the overall sound is. I have a crate xt120r and yesterday my dad found one of these that someone was throwing out. Just layin on the curb! We want to buy a head cause the one he found doesnt have one. Would it be worth putting the money and work into getting a new head?

  • @Gunsmoke1942 Was :). I paid for it abt. USD 150 (in EUR from Germany) and gave it for the same amount ... pretty cheap for the quality ... on eBay ... good luck

  • nice man sounds great i put this amp in lay a way today!! :)
