Showing the new German 8.8cm FlaK-18 and the improved Lancaster bomber with some new bombs. All in the Normandy mod for ArmA (and hopefully ArmA2 soon too). The FlaK-18 in the vid is in the pure AA use mode (no shield or any camo painting). It is 100% AA fire capable (player can get kills for downed aircraft). There is also a version for AT use (not shown in the vid) which can fire AA rounds too. The extra powerful searchlights can track aircraft several miles away (or high). The new bombs in Lancaster include MC500, MC1000, MC4000, HC4000 (Cookie), HC8000, HC12000, MC12000 (Tallboy), MC22000(Grand Slam). Also flare clusters and target indication markers for pathfinders and 8x30lb and 53x4lb incendiary bomb clusters (if you like terror bombing).

  • Lancaster and the bomb pack are converted to Arma2 and improved/given more stuff. The Flak is still waiting

  • how did u get the planes to fly so high for me they ARE ALWAYS LOW

  • The planes are set with "flyInHeight" command. Not sure what height it was in this vid. Prolly 500..700 meters. They are ordered to drop bombs when getting closer than a set distance to the target.

  • so where do i type that in? and does it look like

flyinheight500 or flyinheight 500 or what

  • In the editor. Open the setup dialog for the plane. Then add into the init field...

    this setpos [getpos this select 0, getpos this select 1, 500]; this flyInHeight 500;

  • in real if the flak was shootin sright up the will bomb thier selfs. but nice work

  • German 88mm AA shells used time fuses, so unless the fuse was faulty they wouldn't bomb themselves. The gun has same limitations as the real one so you can raise it between -3 and 85 degrees. In the vid AI is manning the guns and I have no control if they are so dumb that they blow themselves up.

  • @coppincopp they figured out how to stop bombing themselves along time ago, with time fused shells

  • game ?

  • @GamingMusicVideos1 what command do you use to auto deploy ordanance? it would come in handy

  • k thanks

  • is this a WW2 mod?!

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • Not bad, but the lancasters are really too fast...

  • very nice :)

  • Maybe in the updated version.

Lancasters carrying the dam buster bomb were special version of Mk I. They had the bombbay doors removed and most notably the landing gear was higher. Basicy I would have to make both a new Lancaster type and the bomb which needs maybe bit scripting. Actually Tallboy and Grandslam were carried by a special Lancaster too, not the normal version seen in the vid.

  • how about doing the dam buster version....?

  • thanks im readin up on it at armaholic, sounds great

  • Should be compatible with ArmA II.

  • nice mods, they would look great in arma 2
