As it says at the beggining of the video, i blew my engine on the A14 in September 2008. I have put all my money including selling my 1994 Mk4 Supra into this newly rebuilt long block and all the brand new uprated parts. It has taken many months of work and stress to get this car to this stage and its still not finished but this was the moment earlier today when the new engine was started for the first time. I am holding the camera and Dean Buxton is my friend and ex employee of MGT Racing Skyline Specialists of Nuneaton who has come over to help prepare the engine and get it started.

  • Why didnt you just buy a RB26DETT?

  • Doing the conversion just isnt worth it. This is a GTS-T and rear wheel drive only i would have to remove the diff from the sump on an RB26 and then i would have had to buy 2 turbos for it and all ancillaries as it is very different. I would have had to buy a new ECU because an RB25 ECU is no good for an RB26. I wouldnt have gained anything by doing it either, my car is faster than a standard GTR with less drag as mine is 2wd also you cant push a GTR like you can a GTST and expect it to survive!

  • You can buy a RB26DETT with all ancillaries for around £2-3k from japan, you can use the RB25 Gearbox could buy a Sump for around £200 :) but nice build.

how much BHP when driven in?

  • Yeah i did have that idea but my best mate is a Skyline mechanic, he worked for MGT racing for a few years so after a careful listen to him i decided that the RB26 route would be better off forgotten. I want a GTR at some point anyway (Just for the badge really lol).

Its about 330bhp at the moment, i need a better turbo and im after a LINK ecu too so after thats all done probably cap it at 400bhp, any more than that in a GTS-T it becomes hard to keep on the road. lol. Just uploading new vid!

  • omg so sexy

  • 400bhp hard to keep on the road??? lol I have one of these and 400bhp is fun on mountain runs! Once you get to likes of 700 bhp then its hardish to keep on the road

  • Nice piece of kit there mate... always feels great to have a new engine... look after it... I don't mean baby it... just do things like change oil every 3 to 5 thousand miles... change oxygen sensors quite regularly...

I'm a V8 fan... but I truly respect Skyline 32,33 & 34... Just one thing, I know it's personal taste... but those cars have a great shape... loose the rear wing!... it spoils the side profile.
