Niels Wiggo Gade- Bridal waltz (Brudevalsen-Denmark)

The Danish composer Niels Gade (1817 - 1890) started his musical career as a violinist in the Danish Royal Orchestra. His first success as a composer came in 1840 with his overture Echoes of Ossian. His First Symphony was accepted by Mendelssohn and performed by the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig, where the composer met Mendelssohn and Schumann, succeeding the former as conductor of the Gewandhaus Orchestra in 1847. The following year he returned to Denmark, where he came to assume a leading position in the musical life of the country, writing music in a style greatly influenced by Mendelssohn and Schumann.

  • With due respect, are you sure that this work isn't actually by Jakob Gade, the composer of the now [in]famous tango "Jalousie"? Jakob, incidentally, was not directly related to Neils Gade and son Axel - also a composer.

  • @Dogsledfan ...On my old "Polydor" 45 vinyl written "Niels Wiggo Gade" as the composer !!...But thanks for your interest..

  • Der danser jo udentvivl brudevals mindst engang hver dag der går :)

  • this cannot be found online for poor souls who is looking. everyone is an asshole and fuck you all, die right now.

  • Is it to late to practice this 2 night before the wedding? I need a downloadable version as well ? :)

  • @Irochka2525 I'm at a loss too, but maybe it's too sexy for uptight Americans, you know ;)

  • @Dogsledfan The work is by Niels Wilhelm Gade - NOT Wiggo or Jacob. It is originally from the ballet "A folks tale" (1854) by Bournonville, which is 35 years before Jacob Gade was born.

  • How can i find the full version ??? My wedding is in May.....Heeeeelppp !!!!!

  • @Dogsledfan
