Seriously, this video is intended as satire of all the "______: Best Army in the World!" videos. I've seen them for America, Russia, China, Turkey, Chile, Sri Lanka, Armenia, Hungary, and countless others. Since apparently every army in the world is the best, that must include the Vatican City's (which, by the way, is called the Swiss Guard).

@nevermore1000 : What makes you think that it actually isn't? After the years of service the Swiss Guards give at the Vatican City, they all end up enrolled in the FBI and CIA. Now how about that? You mustn't judge them by th uniform cause that is just for ceremonial purposes. They are fully trained and armed and very well aware of technological equipment.

@nevermore1000 : That could be true but remember that the Swiss Guards' role is not that of a military unit to protect the Vatican City but it is the bodyguard unit of the Pope and the protector of the Apostolic Palace. It belongs to the Holy See and not to the Vatican State. This means that if the Pope had to change his residence, the Swiss Guards would move along with him and not stay in VC to protect it. Italy unofficially provides military protection to VC. However thanks for the vid! :)

Lol a good putdown for all those best army vids (hell even seen people claiming Lith army is best in world, which is like wtf a brigade isnt an army its a small private security force with tanks (except they dont have any and have one trainer in their "airforce"!!!). But the Swiss actually they looked a lot better drilled than lots of soldiers I've seen and didnt see one who looked like they entered competitive zeppellin eating competitions. But good vid!

To clarify things. The swiss guard have Modern weapons. They have Assault Rifles, And not all of them are wearing these clown uniforms designed by Leonardo da Vinci. Some wear Plainclothes and have radio's and they carry with them M9's and some other pistols. Their Swords, Pikes and Spears are merely ceremonial in purpose. They can defend but not for long I believe.

The Swiss Guard is completely awesome. Saw them when I went to the Vatican. Don't let the wickedly awesome uniforms fool you, these guys are tough. They are some of the best trained soldiers in the world.

@MrFahadjani ur stupid one soldier from every army in the world gets accepted into the Swiss Guard and they are the best from those countries so yess they are an army probably the best trained but sadly they wear tights and carry spears

Umm I thought that Pope uses his faith to protect himself... why does he need an army and stuff? Is it really necessary in order to protect the christian phylosophy? Believing in Jesus... Judas, Allah, Buddha or Thor. It's all the same thing - a prophecy left from ancient times, living by witch different people can obtain peace of mind... and army is no sign of peace... it's a sign of fear... a sign of weakness... and fear doesn't sit well with religion...
