I was one of their biggest fans and in '86, on the COS Tour, I finally got a chance to see them live. I had a pair of tix - 2nd Row Center, for the Beverly Theatre in Beverly Hills, CA. When we got to the theatre there was nobody there, and the marquee read - CANCELED! I was so disappointed. I never learn why.

I'm sure this will sound condescending, but the truth is, those of us who were fortunate enough to have spent our formative years (high school and college) from about 1978-1986 are the only ones who know what it was like to have lived the formative years during the greatest time in the history of the world.

I have been a huge fan since 1983 and the first time I listened to their song "Talk Talk" (all you do to me is talk ....). I bought the vinyl album right away and have been hooked ever since. I even had a chance to see them live in Los Angeles. Mark Hollis has an incredible voice that goes deep under the skin. His lyrics are sad and melancholy, the music is powerful in an emotional way. Just brilliant music that will never be repeated. Thanks for posting

BLOOODY HELL!!! screw the synth: Listen to those lyrics, that sublime drumming & that god-damned PIANO!!! Fuck me, incredible. I'm speechless. The genius to come was evident even at this stage!
