Album : The party's over
Piste : 9
Année : 07.1982

This sure is some kind of party
It's so useful
Surronds my life with excuses
For what I choose to lose
And my name
Doesn't look the same to me
And inside
Don't you know, I feel so bad

Candy
When I tried to turn away
To feel new again
My emotion cost me pain
Did I look the same
When I think about the times
That I laughed away the idea you'd cheat on me
But look again
What do you say that's my name

And I hope that I've kept you amused
To wipe that spit right off my boots
And when I'm home and thinking in the dark
I hope that none of this had to go too far

When it's get too late
To see me any other way
And it's get too hard to hold on
To everything that I want so bad

  • BLOOODY HELL!!! screw the synth: Listen to those lyrics, that sublime drumming & that god-damned PIANO!!! Fuck me, incredible. I'm speechless. The genius to come was evident even at this stage!

  • Mark Hollis still makes me cry even after all this years. tears of beautyful feelings and emotions.

  • SAW THEM SUPPORT DURAN DURAN 1980 LIVERPOOL EMPIRE AND THEY WERE WELL BETTER THAN THEM,EMI FUCKED UP BACKING DURAN DURAN RATHER THAN TALK TALK...

  • I was the first TT proponent in Rhode Island. That means a whole lot!Talking Heads couldn't follow this.

  • Don't you just want to know Candy??

  • Love it, bloody fantastic intense music/lyrics

  • I was one of their biggest fans and in '86, on the COS Tour, I finally got a chance to see them live. I had a pair of tix - 2nd Row Center, for the Beverly Theatre in Beverly Hills, CA. When we got to the theatre there was nobody there, and the marquee read - CANCELED! I was so disappointed. I never learn why.

  • class!!!...

  • Superb track to end a superb album.

  • what a great find thank you for this

  • I'm sure this will sound condescending, but the truth is, those of us who were fortunate enough to have spent our formative years (high school and college) from about 1978-1986 are the only ones who know what it was like to have lived the formative years during the greatest time in the history of the world.

  • I have been a huge fan since 1983 and the first time I listened to their song "Talk Talk" (all you do to me is talk ....). I bought the vinyl album right away and have been hooked ever since. I even had a chance to see them live in Los Angeles. Mark Hollis has an incredible voice that goes deep under the skin. His lyrics are sad and melancholy, the music is powerful in an emotional way. Just brilliant music that will never be repeated. Thanks for posting
