One special summer night Puddin' Tang plus an extra member took the stage at Jonathan Toubin's New York Night Train extravaganza to recreate the Velvets live experience. It was one of the most fun nights ever and has made us question whether more than two chords and one beat are really necessary to make rock and roll music ever since. Director Eva Aridjis captured it all.
@tedhigh68 What's the point of writing crap I you can't be bothered to read the explanation?

What's the point of doing a cover that sounds just like the original?

This is magnificent!
I kid you not, I used to know a guy who went to Summit High School and actually attended the Velvets first gig back in '65. He had no idea of the enormity of the event, and I, for the life of me, didn't know how in the world to get it across to him. For him, it was just, "Lou Reed played at my school before he was famous."

I figured my comments would piss someone off, but I have fond memories of hearing the VU live. They were my favorite band before it was cool to like them & before they got "discovered" by rock fans and rock bands, so I'm not inclined to give accolades to every cover band that tries to do their music. Props to these guys for playing their stuff, but they do NOT sound "just like" the VU.
And, oh BTW, I'm not the only one who thinks these guys don't quite equal the VU.
